Bridget Lawler

Born on July 26, 1967, in Talladega, Alabama, Bridget Fomby Lawler was the cherished daughter of Henry Pearl Fomby and Vera Jones Fomby. She graced this world for 58 beautiful years, touching hearts and spreading joy like a garden in full bloom. Throughout her life, she illuminated the world around her with a spirit that was as vibrant as her smile. Bridget's journey began in Talladega County, where her faith blossomed at St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church, guiding her through the many paths of life. An ardent learner, Bridget excelled in her studies, graduating from Talladega County Training School and furthering her education with a degree in cosmetology. As a master cosmetologist, she dedicated herself both to the art of beauty and to empowering others, imparting her skills to countless students eager to follow in her footsteps. In 1986, Bridget found her soulmate in Joseph Dion Lawler. Their union blossomed into a nearly 40-year marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they nurtured three loving children, who were the very essence of Bridget's heart. Bridget cherished her girls infinitely, lovingly referring to them as her "JEWELS" !! To them, she was not just a mother; she was a steadfast friend and guiding light, lovingly regarded as "Isn't She Lovely." Her spirit was one of strength and beauty inside and out that resonated deeply within the hearts of her loved ones, who will forever cherish the memories of her warmth, compassion, and laughter. Bridget was a woman of strength and many passions; especially shopping and talking with her family and friends. Her laughter would often fill the room, always starting a good conversation with "GIRLLLLLL!!!" or expressing disbelief with a lively "WOW!" Though she was a master of her craft, she also embraced new challenges, learning to cook and often seeking culinary wisdom from her brother Jack. With a green thumb, she delighted in the art of gardening, watching as life blossomed under her care. Earlier in life, Bridget's excitement extended to adventures on motorcycles, where she took great pleasure in the thrill of the ride. She loved driving, even if it occasionally left others clutching their seats in shock. Bridget Fomby Lawler's legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. Bridget, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026 Though she has departed from our sight, her spirit will forever nurture our hearts, and she will be greeted with open arms in the heavenly realm, rejoicing alongside her cherished son, Baby Dion Lawler, her beloved parents, Henry and Vera Fomby, brother, Jack Fomby, grandparents, Anthony Jones, Sr. and Evergreen Jones, and Ella Ford, and nephew, Kavaris Oden. While she will be profoundly missed, we take comfort in the knowledge that she rests in eternal peace, rejoicing with the angels. She leaves behind a tapestry woven with love and memories to forever be cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Joseph Lawler; two cherished daughters, Jeriah Lawler and Pili Lawler; dear sisters, Marilyn (Benjamin) Lawson, Jo Ann (Robert) Jenkins, Olivia Jones Lee, and Arlesia Fomby Oden; aunts, Minnie Lee Jones, Paula Jones, Annie Pearl Swain, Patricia Jones, Gertrude Zachery, Joan Ford, and Blanch (Jeff) Curry; uncle, Rev. Dr. Robert Lee Jones, Sr. of Rockford, Illinois; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Edlane Lawler; brother-in-law, Raynard (Jackie) Lawler; sister-in-law, Bonita Fomby; and a wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever keep her memory alive.
